Disappointing Braille Labels Feb 12, 2011
By Marie I was happy to see these clear braille labels so decided to try them for my friend who is blind. I thought that the clear labels would be more natural in appearance, and make it easy to share the same keyboard (with one blind and one sighted user). The adhesive quality and label sizes are generally good. However, please note that not all of the labels use standard braille. For example, the directional keys (arrows, page up/down, etc) have visual symbals that are not meaningful to a blind user. It would be more helpful, for example, if they had used standard braille to indicate "left, right, up, or down". Perhaps even "PU" or "PD" (in braille) for page up, page down. The left and right shift keys are labeled with an "S" (NOT braille dots). Shift keys are large enough that they could have brailled the entire word or even put "SH" (IN BRAILLE) for "Shift". Similar problems with backspace key, enter key, etc. If they fix these things, and use actual braille for all keys it would be a great product.
