Love this program! Aug 26, 2009
By A. Twitchell I absolutely love this program. You're given two different speech variations on the language. One spoke by a man, another by a woman.
The way that they go about showing you a picture and the spelling of the world, plus the actual pronunciation is easy to follow.
Now you need to actually do a lesson at least every day to pick up the language. But that's with any program where you're learning a new language.
It's fun to use. Exciting as you pick up new Gaelic words.
I would reccomend this to anyone.

Outstanding Feb 27, 2009

EuroTalk's Talk Now - Scots Gaelic is an outstanding first tool for learning this poetic and musical language. The lessons are easily understood and simple to follow; learning taking place almost immediately. The talk & listen (to your own voice) feature is especially valuable. Highly recommended for beginners, but a good practice tool for intermediate learners as well. An excellent value also.

Not bad for the price. Dec 21, 2009
By Rebecca L. Murray Other than a goofy urge to giggle like a 3-year-old while repeating the words back at my computer, I have no complaints about this product. It should be noted, though, that if you are running Vista, you may get an error message about floating point errors. You will need a software upgrade to fix it but it is provided free at [...].

Best for young or entry level learners Apr 05, 2011

You will not learn how to speak Scots Gaelic with this product, but you will improve comprehension, and possibly correct pronunciation, of some fundamental words and phrases, including colors, foods, numbers, telling time etc. Used in conjunction with other drill and repetition-based language approaches, it can be very helpful, and engaging. My son really enjoys playing the games, and it is apparent he is beginning to internalize many of the terms. Of the three Eurotalk products available for Scots Gaelic, this one in my opinion is the best value.

Intriguing method Feb 03, 2011
By G. Saffren This is an intriguing way to get a taste of a new language without taking a class. It is self-paced, fun - in sort of a game show kind of way. My only criticism is that the video of the human (male & female speakers) is not really in sync with the audio so their mouth movements are off. For me that's an important part of getting the correct pronunciation. Also you are given the option of hearing the male voice or the female voice, but often its the male voice you hear even if you chose the female. But for a beginner I think it's very good over all.
