2Better Things Available  Jan 20, 2012 By Aglaya Karenina
The Instant Immersion program is not so great, and left me wanting a lot more. Shortly after I bought this program, I discovered JapanesePod101.com. I would definitely it out before you buy any programs (they offer a seven day free trial and some free podcasts). JapanesePod's podcasts are a lot more interesting, informative, and are easier to follow than Instant Immersion's audio CD, and they come with pdf files of the lessons in romanized language (great for visual people like me), and also offer the vocabulary in kana and kanji for those of you who want to read Japanese as well as speak it. I wish I had found it before I bought this program.

2It's okay I guess  Jan 03, 2012 By William Cole "bjcoco"
I think it's good for teaching you how to say quick phrases and vocabulary, but it doesn't really teach you how to put sentences together or anything like that so it's not good if you actually want to learn the language. Right on the inside of the box it says "What's the difference between us and Rosetta Stone? About $400" which is perfectly correct because Rosetta stone also just teaches vocabulary from what I've heard. Vocabulary doesn't even include verbs. I don't want to know how to say Restaurant or store or bicycle, I want to say I have a bicycle, Where is the store, and meet me at the restaurant at 6! So I guess it's okay then for tourists maybe.

4Great Product for the $$$  Sep 02, 2011 By daniegrrrl
For the money, this is a great product. I've never used Rosetta Stone or any other language learning products, but I think its fun & effective. The games are all so much fun & it does help you learn Japanese.

5Highly recommended! Will buy for other languages too  Aug 06, 2011 By iPhone Lover
My husband and I have been wanting to go to Japan since we got married 10 years ago. Finally this year we decided to purchase the tickets and go.

Since we really didn't want to be taken advantage of and we didn't want to be completely lost we decided to get a Japanese course that would help us learn at least the basics.

I am SO glad we chose Instant Immersion Japanese. Not only have I been able to learn the basics but now I can actually understand some of the literature that we have gotten for our trip.

I love the fact that it has mp3 files that I can download into my iphone. I listen to them while in bed at night before going to sleep and in the morning at the gym. I wish I would have found this course before (the Spanish Version) when we were going to South America, it would have made our trip a lot less stressful and a lot more enjoyable.

2Not very good user interface  Jul 08, 2011 By L. Yang "Dragon"
Due to a potential business deal with a Japanese company, I want to pick up some Japanese. I was exposed to Japanese language when I was a young boy, living in Japan for two years. So, I thought I could self learn Japanese.

I bought this software simply because it was cheap. Well, it is a CHEAP software. The DVD is very poorly done. It was simply boring and very slow in response. The CD on PC is very primitive. I think it was a DOS program converted into Window. It is very slow because all data needs to be fetched from CD on demand. Although I am only on Disc 1, I am already bored to death.

I would not recommend this software to anybody. It will put you to sleep very effectively.
